Our long-term goal is to publish high-quality homiletical commentaries for every book of the Bible. We also hope to publish other works related to the Bible and Christian discipleship, particularly with an eye toward transformation into the image of Jesus Christ (re. Rom. 12:1, 2 Cor. 3:18). All of these works will be made available free online in electronic format and for a modest price in hardcopy. In short, we hope the works we publish will
Be based on good biblical scholarship but be geared more toward practical ministry than academic reflection;
Avoid sectarian positions or petty controversies but rather focus on matters of what C.S. Lewis called "mere Christianity";
Help all Christians be transformed more and more into the image of Jesus Christ (Rom. 12:1; 2 Cor. 3:18);
Be made available free in electronic format for those who cannot afford hardcopy versions;
Give glory to God through our efforts.
Every book published by Transforming Publishing will receive an ISBN and barcode, be listed in the Books in Print system, receive a U.S.
Library of Congress number and be deposited in the Library of
Congress, be available for sale online at Amazon.com and other online
outlets, and be available for preview with Google Books. Each author will
sign a publishing contract and receive a modest royalty for every book
sold; in no circumstance will an author be charged for publishing his or her
work. Transforming Publishing will provide the time and expense for all
editing and publishing services, and each author will review editing
and publishing changes before publication. In these respects,
Transforming Publishing will function as a traditional publisher.
Potential
authors should be aware, however, that the primary purpose of this
endeavor is to make high-quality electronic books available free online. While we hope that authors, along with the publisher, will work to encourage hardcopy sales online, distribution in brick-and-mortar stores, at least
initially, will be very limited. We hope one day to expand into wide
distribution of hardcopy books, but at the outset authors should
approach writing for Transforming Publishing more as a ministry of
sharing one's insights with the Body of Christ than as a means of
gaining fame or fortune.
In addition to the three authors already onboard, we hope in the months ahead to have other writers join us in building up Transforming Publishing and, through our modest efforts, the church. Over the past several years I have come
across a number of Christian bloggers who may have already produced
work ready for compiling, editing, and publishing. I will be contacting
several of you in the months ahead. But please don't wait to be
contacted. If you have written something that may be of interest to us,
please contact me at milton@transformingpublishing.net.
Please
be in prayer, as I am, that this endeavor will build up the Body of
Christ and bring glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
